About Hueecho — hold a color in memory
Hueecho trains short-term color memory — holding one exact shade in mind through a pause and then reproducing it. With the original gone, you cannot compare side by side, so the game reveals how quickly and how much a remembered color drifts, the very challenge of matching a tone from memory when the reference is in another room or another browser tab.
A shade flashes on screen and then disappears. After a short pause, you rebuild its lightness from memory using the controls. Four rounds show how steadily your color memory holds over a short delay.
The drift you see is memory decay in the visual system. Learn how color memory and recall works, or explore all our Learn about color guides.
